The Vedanta School of Nursing & Paramedical Science, located in Lachhirampur, Azamgarh, was established in 2016 with a mission to provide quality education in the field of nursing and paramedical sciences. The institution is affiliated with the U.P. State Medical Faculty, Lucknow; Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur; and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Lucknow. It is also recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi.

Nursing encompasses autonomous and collaborative care of individuals of all ages, families, groups and communities, sick or well and in all settings. Nursing includes the promotion of health, prevention of illness, and the care of ill, disabled and dying people. Advocacy, promotion of safe environment, research, participation in health policy and in patient and health systems management, and education are also key nursing roles.
